• A special Valentines Day Cooking Class

    Lila’s French Cooking celebrated Valentines Day with a very special cooking class.

    We had five couples cook their way into each other’s hearts with a menu specially designed for romance.

    Each couple was welcomed by a melon and citrus cocktail with a spicy hint of white pepper and  ginger.

    The menu featured amuse-bouches of beetroot, granny smith apple, matured cheddar and a shaving of smoked duck  wrapped around dried fig or walnut, as well as a savoury chantilly with avocado mousse with a tartare of prawns.

    For mains, the couples made a peas and green asparagus risotto with home made pesto and parmesan shavings, along with a salmon tartare made with cubed mangoes, tomatoes, shallots on a bed of greens with vanilla vinaigrette.

    A romantic meal is not complete without a decadent dessert, and the couples were shown how to put together a delicious vanilla and chocolate  millefeuille.

    It was an evening well-spent celebrating passion and a love of beautiful food.
